Sparkly Moon Studs - with recycled glass

Full moon porcelain earrings. Porcelain with colored inlay to accent the details. Solid sterling silver posts. Earrings are 7/8" round discs, thin and light, posts are set in the center of the earring.  

The sparkly surface is actually created by adding crushed glass, in this case from Topo Chico sparkling water bottles to the surface in the glaze firing. The high temperature melts the glass to the surface on the earring and because the glass moves differently than the clay as it cools it creates a sparkly series of micro cracks! Magic!
